Portfolio
I mostly make my living building things with folks in my community to help us leverage open data.
I also make things with researchers, sharing my skills in data communication and application development.
Below is a sample of some of my professional work.
Parcels N'at
Parcels N'at provides a single interface to access a diverse set of property and housing related datasets across Allegheny County. Users can explore data parcel-by-parcel, see region-level indicators of aggregate parcel data, and filter, join and download parcel data in bulk.

SpaceRAT
The Spatial-Relational Aggregation Toolkit (SpaceRAT) is a python library that provides tools to map a colloquial civic tech ontology onto the database of a regional open data portal with heterogeneous sources and publishers.
Greenprint
Winner of a PA Governor's Award for Environmental Excellence in 2019. Intersectional analysis tool built with Allegheny Land Trust that allows users to map current open spatial data with an environmental focus. Users can also explore details about parcels.
HouseCat
The HouseCat affordable housing catalog provides a user-friendly GIS interface to explore messy data from various sources about housing projects in Allegheny County. Access is controlled by a local affordable housing preservation coalition.
WPRDC CKAN Deployment and Theme
My work at the Western PA Regional Data Center includes maintaining our CKAN deployment and theme extension.
WPRDC App Dev Utilities
Supports the development of the WPRDC website and apps. Includes React UI components, TypeScript Types, and APIs for interacting with WPRDC backend tools.
CKAN Dataspatial extension
A CKAN extension that provides PostGIS support to the CKAN datastore.
This further supports other GIS operations at the resource-record-level including performing spatial queries and serving map tiles.Social Media Election Policies Tracker
The Social Media Election Policy Tracker is a tool built with researchers at Pitt Cyber to "broadly chronicle a timeline of selected social media companies’ evolving policies which have impacted the information environment related to U.S. elections and campaigns from 2016 – the present."
